What makes Handmade soap
Different?
Soap, real soap, is created when an alkali (lye) is
mixed with fatty acids. The resulting chemical reaction creates soap
and glycerin.
Mass produced soaps that you purchase at the grocery
store have had the naturally occuring glycerin removed from it. This
makes a hard, but very drying bar of soap. Why do they remove the
glycerin? Profit. They sell the glycerin back to you you as a more
expensive soap.
Handmade soap still has all glycerin in it, thus retaining
all the wonderful moisturizing properties.
People are finding after
using handmade soap that there skin is softer, cleaner, more supple.
Also, because I use only vegetable oils, my soaps are non-comedogenic
(won't clog pores).
In addition to soap, we also carry a line of handmade
skin care products, including lotions, lip balms, toners, sprays and
scrubs. The lotions are made with all vegetable oils, no lanolin or
mineral oils, which can clog your pores. And my favorite is the Peppermint
Foot treatments (listed under specialty items).
My tea tree and herb
soap, combined with the lavender rosemary toner, has done wonders
to clear up my two oldest sons' faces. Quinn's cream works wonders
on my one year old's diaper rash. I apply a small amount at night,
and in the morning, it's gone.
ll my products are 100% cruelty free,
not tested on animals (with the exception of 3 teenage boys....LOL).
